Construction of a 35/10 kV substation for a greenhouse complex
The company’s design department carried out topographic, geodetic and geological surveys, developed the design and estimate documentation and coordinated it with the power supply organization as well as with regulatory and municipal services. Thanks to the high qualifications of the department’s specialists, effective technical solutions were adopted that made it possible to build the electrical networks in the shortest possible time and with high operational and technical-economic indicators.
The substation design was developed using three-dimensional (3D) modeling, which made it possible to eliminate potential inaccuracies when using non-standard assemblies.
To connect the designed substation to the Oblenergo electrical networks, projects were carried out for the reconstruction of the «Surska-35» feeding substation and the construction of two mutually redundant 35 kV cable lines from it. During the reconstruction of the «Surska-35» substation, two 35 kV high-voltage block cells were installed, and the secondary circuits of relay protection, automation and telemechanics were technically re-equipped. To monitor the consumed electricity, an AMR system (automated commercial electricity metering system) was provided.
The first stage of the construction and installation works was laying two 35 kV cable lines (CL), each more than three kilometers long. Excavation of the cable trench was carried out under various conditions, since the cable route ran through a forest belt, crossed agricultural fields and the Mokra Sura river. For the first time the company faced laying a cable under a riverbed, but thanks to the qualifications of the contractors engaged for the works this experience proved very successful. An employee of the contracting organization, Vadym Fast, who performed the directional horizontal drilling, managed to complete the bore under the Mokra Sura only on the seventh attempt, since vertical granite layers are embedded in the base of the riverbank.
While the installers were laying the high-voltage cables, builders at the substation were engaged in preparatory work for pouring the foundations for the power transformers.
