For the home

Generate electricity independent of the common power supply grid, for full autonomy from state tariffs.

It is like installing a generator that uses solar energy instead of fuel.

icon
Turnkey

Additional income from net-metering surpluses fed into the grid (subject to an agreement with the DSO). The payback period depends on tariffs and operating conditions.

For enterprises

Reduce utility costs at your production facility or office – install a solar power plant to generate electricity.

Spend less on utilities, as if the dollar were back at 8 hryvnias.

Choosing a site for SPP construction

Ukraine’s location makes it attractive for investment. If you look at the solar activity (insolation) map, then across roughly 80% of the country’s territory its level does not fall below three units, which looks promising compared to other European countries.

In 2017, the amount of investment in SPPs in Ukraine totalled 250 million dollars.
 According to the statistical data collected, there are no global differences from the geography of SPP construction in terms of generation volume and the payback period of the invested funds.

Thus, if identical SPPs are built simultaneously in the Chernivtsi and Odesa regions, the “northern” SPP will produce on average 10% less energy than the “southern” SPP.

Get a consultation on SPPs

The consultant will ask you:

  • where the solar power plant needs to be built,
  • what task it should fulfil,
  • the annual energy consumption schedule,
  • whether you are ready to pay in full or want to take out a loan,
  • where a turnkey solar panel installation is possible: on the roof or the ground.

and will calculate the cost of the project and the plant’s payback period, as well as recommend lending programmes and grants if necessary.

    Frequently asked questions

    It depends on the plant's capacity and the investment format. Usually the starting amount is from 100,000 euros for small projects (1 MW) and higher for large-scale plants.

    The profitability of projects depends on the construction cost, electricity tariffs, and connection conditions. On average, investors expect 16–18% per annum in foreign currency.

    The typical project implementation period is 5–8 months: from site selection and obtaining permits to commissioning the plant.

    • Solar panels – up to 25 years of performance warranty.
    • Inverters – 5–10 years (with the option to extend).
    • Monitoring systems and storage – usually 5–7 years.

    The income is generated from:

    • selling electricity on the market (balancing market, bilateral agreements, auctions),
    • savings on your own consumption (for corporate clients),
    • participation in “green” generation programmes in the EU (in the future – cross-border PPA).

    The main risks:

    • regulatory changes in the electricity market,
    • technical equipment failures,
    • weather fluctuations (solar activity).
    We minimise them through the use of reliable equipment suppliers, project insurance, and sound financial planning.

    Yes. We offer various models: joint investment, phased financing, raising borrowed funds against a guarantee of future income.

    • raising borrowed funds against a guarantee of future income.

    In Ukraine, there are renewable energy support programmes and the possibility of obtaining grants from international donors and financial institutions (EBRD, USAID, Horizon Europe).

    We take on full technical and legal support: 24/7 monitoring, repairs, maintenance, accounting, reporting.

    Yes. All legal procedures can be arranged without the mandatory presence of the investor in Ukraine – through a power of attorney and electronic document management.

    Types of solar power plants installed on a turnkey basis

    LK-Energy sells several types of power plants:

    • Large megawatt projects for commercial or industrial enterprises.
    • Small and medium energy systems for private households or small enterprises.
    • Small SPPs suitable for facilities with low electricity consumption.
    • Hybrid systems that combine panels with other energy sources, such as the common grid line, wind turbines, or diesel generators.

    Factors that affect the price of a turnkey solar panel installation

    The price of installing an SPP depends on several key factors. Firstly, it is the capacity of the system: the greater the required capacity, the higher the cost. Secondly, the choice of the type and quality of the panels, the inverter, and other system components has an impact.

    The specifics of the installation can also affect the cost. For example, the accessibility of the roof or the plot of land, the complexity of connecting to the grid, and the need to use additional structures. Company experts also single out additional factors. Among them are the cost of the installers’ labour, tax incentives and subsidies, and the infrastructural features of the location.

    What equipment is included in the supply package?

    The package includes the following components:

    • panels (photovoltaic cells);
    • inverters (single-phase or three-phase);
    • mounting structures (ground or roof fixings);
    • electrical cables and connectors;
    • monitoring and control systems;
    • grounding and protective devices;
    • backup power and batteries (if required).

    In addition, other components may be included in the calculation. For example, batteries for energy storage, as well as additional accessories for the safety and efficient operation of the SPP.

    Where are turnkey solar panels installed?

    The installation of a turnkey solar power plant can be carried out both on the roof of a building and on the ground, depending on the client’s requirements and the availability of a location for the panels. A turnkey solar power plant can also be installed on water surfaces. For example, on lakes and reservoirs, where floating platforms are mounted.

    What documents are required for the construction of a turnkey SPP?

    The company handles all matters related to preparing the documents for the construction of an SPP. Among them are:

    • a permit for the land plot and construction;
    • design documentation and technical specifications;
    • contracts with equipment suppliers and contractors;
    • a permit for connection to the electrical grid.

    Additionally, approvals from energy regulators, environmental impact assessments, and approvals from the owners of the buildings or land where the turnkey solar panel installation will be carried out may be required.

    A consultation with LK-Energy professionals will help in the process of collecting all the necessary documents and permits for the successful construction of an SPP. In conclusion, the managers provide the customer with a ready set of documentation.

    Construction of solar power plants: stages of the work

    The construction of a solar power plant goes through several stages:

    1. preparation and design;
    2. procurement and delivery of equipment;
    3. installation of panels and inverters;
    4. connection to the electrical grid and testing;
    5. obtaining the necessary permits and documents;
    6. commissioning and the start of electricity production.

    At the final stage, the construction involves the start-up and commissioning of the system. After this, staff training in maintenance and management takes place.

    Turnkey solar batteries: payback periods in Ukraine

    In Ukraine, the equipment usually pays for itself over a period of 5 to 7 years; it all depends on several factors. Among them are the size and characteristics of the system, its cost, as well as the intensity of operation. LK-Energy staff point out that an important aspect is also the weather and climatic conditions.

    Installation of turnkey solar power plants: timeframe for the work

    The timeframe for the work varies depending on various factors, such as the size and complexity of the project, the availability of materials, weather conditions, and permit requirements.

    Usually, building turnkey solar power plants requires from a few weeks to a few months. This includes the stages of planning, design, site preparation for installation, equipment installation, testing, and obtaining the necessary permits.
