Low-voltage distribution device up to 5000 A
Packaged transformer substations from the manufacturer LK-Energy – high-quality and reliable equipment!
High-voltage lines carry a high voltage that cannot be supplied directly to consumers. It has to be transformed into alternating current, which is used to power household appliances, industrial and other types of equipment.
Packaged transformer substations: description of functionality and purpose
A packaged transformer substation is an electrical substation consisting of three compartments: the high-voltage compartment (switchgear 35, 20, 10, 6 kV), the power transformer compartment, and the low-voltage compartment (switchgear 0.4 kV).
All this helps to maintain the required level of power supply to various facilities. In particular, packaged transformer substations are used for apartment buildings, industrial enterprises, factories, shopping centres and office buildings. In addition, they are installed at agricultural facilities. For example, near farms and grain elevators.
Key specifications of the packaged transformer substation
LK-Energy manufactures various types of packaged transformer substations. This allows each customer to obtain functional equipment for their specific needs. However, before buying a packaged transformer substation, it is worth getting acquainted with its main specifications.
Design and components of the packaged transformer substation
A packaged transformer substation consists of several parts. Its design includes:
- low-voltage cubicles;
- the transformer cubicle;
- and high-voltage cubicles;
The transformer converts the alternating voltage from high to lower values. The basis is the enclosure – a sturdy metal frame that reliably protects the equipment from external factors and unauthorised access.

Safety
The packaged transformer substation, like other equipment manufactured by our company, complies with the established requirements of the Electrical Installation Code (ПУЕ) for safe operation.
Strength
One of the main principles of production is the use of high-quality materials that withstand loads during operation. In particular, the enclosure uses durable galvanised steel that is resistant to external influences and corrosion.
Reliability
Each packaged transformer substation is equipped with modern equipment and is thoroughly inspected by the quality control department and the electrical testing laboratory. Assembly and installation of electrical components are carried out only by qualified employees who have sufficient work experience to perform the work.
Manufacturing time of the packaged transformer substation
The company’s specialists do everything possible to manufacture the packaged transformer substation for clients as quickly as possible, but without loss of quality. Currently, the lead time is 45 days.
Warranty period
The equipment manufactured at our production facility undergoes testing and inspections. We supply equipment only if the results are flawless. We are confident in the quality of our electrical equipment, so we provide a 24-month warranty.
Delivery methods for the packaged transformer substation
We offer customers several delivery options to choose from. In particular, consolidated freight (with the participation of reliable logistics companies), transport by our own vehicles and self-pickup. Packaged transformer substations can be delivered to sites fully assembled or in separate blocks.
Which companies has LK-Energy supplied with packaged transformer substations?
Organisations approach us with requests for the design and manufacture of packaged transformer substations. In particular, we supplied reliable equipment to Solar Stalkonstruktsiya LLC. We manufactured and installed the following types of electrical equipment:
Packaged transformer substation for the solar power plant located in the village of Vakulove, Dnipropetrovsk region (2023);
Packaged transformer substation for PJSC “Lactic Acid Plant” (Kyiv), PJSC “KYIVENERGO”, PTS-type packaged substation 10/0.4 kV (2017);
PTS-type packaged substation 10/0.4 kV for the Municipal Enterprise of Electrical Networks of Outdoor Lighting “Odesmisksvitlo”, Odesa (2017).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes, this is standard practice for large enterprises (so-called "shop-floor packaged substations"). Installing the substation directly next to powerful equipment (machine tools, presses) makes it possible to avoid huge voltage losses in long low-voltage cables.
For installation inside buildings, we strongly recommend dry-type transformers (with cast insulation). They are fire-safe (contain no oil), do not emit gases and do not require the arrangement of oil-collecting pits. Oil-immersed transformers are cheaper, but require strict compliance with fire-safety regulations and a separate enclosed room.
In-shop packaged transformer substations are designed to be as compact as possible to save useful floor space in the shop. The HV input cabinets and the low-voltage switchgear are docked directly to the transformer, forming a single block. We can manufacture the enclosure to the specific dimensions of your premises.
