Power switch boxes with knife-switch of YaR, YaRP, YaPRP types
Power switch boxes with a knife switch of the YaR and YaPR types are designed for infrequent (no more than six times per hour) switching in circuits with a voltage of 380/220 V three-phase AC at a frequency of 50 Hz with a solidly earthed neutral.
Power switch boxes with change-over switches of the YaRP and YaPRP types are designed for infrequent manual switching of circuits with a voltage of 380/220 V three-phase AC at a frequency of 50 Hz with a solidly earthed neutral (of the main and standby inputs).
The YaRP and YaPRP boxes also protect the outgoing lines against overloads and short-circuit currents.
The boxes are designed for installation on a vertical plane.
Rated operating mode – continuous.
Protection rating per DSTU EN 60529:2018:
- with doors open – IP00;
- with doors closed – IP21 and IP54.
Climatic design U3 per GOST 15150-69.
The boxes are equipped with: input device – knife switch of the VR 32 series, knife-changeover switch of the VR32 series, fuses on the outgoing lines, PN-2 or PPN.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The main difference lies in the knife-switch functions and the presence of fuses: - YaR (Box with a Knife switch): Only switches the voltage on/off. Without fuses. - YaRP (Box with a Knife switch and Fuses): The most popular type. It allows switching the voltage on and protects the line against short circuits (fuse links). - YaPR (Change-over Box): Has a change-over knife switch for two inputs (I-0-II). Used for switching between the main network and a generator. - YaPRP: The same as YaPR (input switching), but additionally equipped with fuses for protection.
This equipment is indispensable for arranging backup power supply. It allows the consumer to be safely switched between two power sources (for example, "Network" — "Generator"). The knife-switch design mechanically prevents both sources from being switched on simultaneously, which avoids a cross short circuit.
