Relay protection and automation cabinets (RZiA)
Relay protection and automation cabinets (RZiA)
Relay protection, automation and signalling cabinets (hereinafter – RZiA cabinets) are designed to implement schemes of relay protection, automation, signalling, telemechanics, interlocking and control of switching devices in the substation control building (OPU) of power facilities and process equipment at various industrial sites.
Depending on the implemented schemes, functions, configuration, design, location and the manufacturing technical specification (or questionnaire), RZiA cabinets have different purposes, structural and circuit designs.
Overall dimensions of RZiA cabinets
| Height | 1600, 1800, 2000, 2200 |
| Width | 600, 800 |
| Depth | 400, 600, 800 |
RZiA cabinets are a metal structure with circuit elements mounted on it.
- one-side or two-side servicing;
- indoor or outdoor installation – U(HL)3, U(HL)1,
- with heating of the cabinet or individual devices;
- floor-standing or wall-mounted design;
- open design (front degree of protection IP20) or protected design (degree of protection up to IP54).
Control and signalling equipment is located on the front doors or false panel of the RZiA cabinets (depending on the location category).
Cable entry is provided through openings or glands in the bottom of the cabinet or through glands at the top (on request).
RZiA cabinets are connected to external circuits via terminal rows. The rows of terminal blocks are designed for connecting one or two conductors with a total cross-section of up to 6 square mm inclusive.
The cabinets are equipped on request with digital or electromechanical RZiA devices. Microprocessor units are programmed according to the operation logic in accordance with the schemes and the technical specification.
The central signalling cabinet (hereinafter – ShTsS) is designed for use at substations, distribution points and switchgear equipped with digital or electromechanical RZiA devices, in various sectors of the power industry and manufacturing.
The ShTsS makes it possible to collect, process, clearly display and promptly transmit information about the status of the facility, generate generalized signalling signals, and quickly and conveniently reconfigure the signalling system.
The ShTsS performs the following functions:
- reception and display of emergency signalling with repeatability of operation;
- central time delay, with repeatability of operation;
- reception and display of signals from individual sensors;
- transmission of information about changes in the state of signal contacts;
- issuing generalized signalling signals “Audible signal”, “Sensor failure”;
maintaining an event log.
The ShTsS can be manufactured on an electromechanical basis or according to the customer’s schemes.
RZiA cabinets comply with the requirements of GOST 22789 (IEC 439-1), DSTU IEC 60439-1, DSTU EN 61439-1 and TU U 27.1-40132794-003:2016.
The layout and configuration of RZiA cabinets is carried out according to the customer’s plans and schemes. When ordering, it is sufficient to provide a manufacturing technical specification or a questionnaire.
In each specific case, a general arrangement drawing and an electrical circuit diagram of each RZiA cabinet are submitted to the customer for approval.
Non-standard low-voltage assemblies (NKU) can be manufactured either as open panels (similar to standard NKU) or as cabinets.
The RZiA cabinet can be closed at the front with a single-leaf door with acrylic glass, which makes it possible to visually monitor the condition of the equipment with the door closed. At the rear, the cabinet is closed with a double-leaf door.
The degree of protection of the RZiA cabinet per DSTU EN 60529:2018 is IP20, IP21, IP41 and others at the customer’s request.
RZiA cabinets are manufactured both on domestically produced frameworks and on frameworks from foreign companies.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
RZiA cabinets are designed to protect power equipment (transmission lines, transformers, generators, motors) against short circuits and abnormal operating conditions. They continuously monitor the network parameters and, in the event of a fault, issue a command to trip the circuit breaker, localizing the damaged section.
We work with all leading global and domestic brands. At the customer's request or according to the project, we can assemble a cabinet based on terminals from: ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, General Electric, as well as Ukrainian manufacturers (RELSiS, Kyivprylad, etc.).
Yes, this is our main specialization. RZiA cabinets are rarely standard. We develop the design documentation and assemble cabinets to the customer's specific technical specification (TS), taking into account the specifics of the facility and the existing secondary wiring schemes.
